What are the top cricket events?

Hi, I'm just doing a small bit of research. To be honest I don't know much about cricket. In fact I know very little but I'm in the process of doing a bit of research and hoping you can help me.

If I were to ask you to bet on the 5 most popular cricket events from September 2012 to June 2013, what would they be? So to clarify my question, I want to know what cricket event(s) between September 2012 and June 2013 would you be most interested in the outcome to? I'm not looking for you to mention that you'd be interested in who wins your local cricket league. I'm looking for a list of big events that everyone who follows cricket and even those who don't follow cricket, would recognise. A comparison in the world of football would be:
(1) Who will win the English premier league?
(2) Who will win the Carling Cup?
(3) Who will win the FA cup?

etc..

I hope you understand what I'm looking for. Thank in advance for your help.

Do you mean just UK based competitions? Because you've chosen what is almost all of the off-season period for our competitions. Cricket's a summer game, after all.

No not just UK based competitions. International also. So there are no main events between September and June? What about well known events in the southern hemisphere? Thanks

The only multi-national events in your timeframe are the ICC World T20 tournament (Sept - Oct 2012) and the ICC Champions Trophy which just makes into your time period in June 2013.

For us in England, the main event is the Ashes, but this doesn't staart until July 2013.

There are many other cricket series that fall within your timeframe, but these are individual competitions of roughly equal status and not anything that happens every year or on a fixed cycle.

India-Aus is always big tbf, as is India-England. Aus-SA should be notable too.

Thanks for your feedback there. I've at least two events there to work with anyway so I'll focus on them. Thanks for your help.
