Best ODI player never to have played Test cricket..

Do you mean the best player in ODIs not to play a Test, or the best cricketer to have played ODIs but not Tests?

Of the latter, the first name I thought of was Clive Rice.

Same as HZ, Clive Rice was the first name I recalled. What a fantastic all-rounder he was, and such a shame his only international exposure was in some ODI's at the very end of his career.

It would be interesting to know what sort of record he could have achieved at Test level. Very good I can imagine.

Is there a big difference between the two? Clive Rice is a good shout. I guess the first category would include ODI specialists who were never really suited to the longer format. Tikolo and RtD are also good candidates.

Shri, Bracken played Tests against India in the 2003-04 series.

Some extra names to float around.

Michael Di Venuto
Kevin Curran
Dirk Nannes
Ali Brown
Duncan Fletcher

If we are talking about good ODI players who never made it to Test level, then Ian Harvey is worth a shout. World Cup winning player with Australia, and a respectable career at international level. One of the greatest domestic OD bowlers of all time in both England and Australia.

Never mentioned for Test level. Average first class cricketer at best.
