***Official** Zimbabwe in Kenya

Athlai

Not Terrible
Obadass left in he 90's.

If we remove his, Tikolo's and Ongondo's performances from the match we get...

Kenya 119/7 from 33 overs.
Zimbabwe 208/6 from 30 overs.

Chubb

International Regular
Unlucky Obanda- seemed he was the only one who could get on with it. Excellent from Chigumbura and Cremer. Looking good for a whitewash now.

Hard to see any other outcome really.
Great to see Obanda delivering though.
Despite only minor consolation, at least 3 players:
Kamande
Varaiya
Obanda
have all improved their PBs with the bat
and I suppose add Bhudia with the ball as he had not taken an ODI wicket in his earlier outing.

Two wickets for Masakadza, four wickets down and nearly half-way through the game without any sign of Cremer or the captain. It’s been an awful showing from the Kenyans this series.

As for Zim, good to see Ray Price get his bowling average below 40. It should only keep falling.

Not good from Kenya. 108/6.

Patel and Ouma must be skating on thin ice by now. Obviously Odoyo will walk straight back into the team, and maybe D.Obuya for Ouma could be a worthwhile move.

Took Kenya 5 games to pick up on the point that Elton bowls pies but at least they gave him good hiding today - 4 overs for 47 runs. A career best for Collins Obuya as well. Decent comeback from Kenya and at least they have something to bowl out now.

Sibanda gone. Good start with the ball. Hopefully they dont fade away like they did with the bat.

Early wicket for Kenya. What on earth was Dabengwa opening for.
I struggle to think of a reason why he is even in the side. He doesn't even have a ODI 50 and his bowling is nothing more than a part-time pastime.

Hoping for a biggie from Masakadza. :)

Fluke one-off performances have kept him around, really. He's put in a couple of ridiculous bowling performances in the Logan Cup and at club level in recent seasons and he went through a period where he was vaguely useful as a lower-order hitter in ODIs providing he had a platform to work from.

Zimbabwe have definitely rotated their players around in this series though - given they're 4-0 up, I dare say they saw it as a good chance to give Dabengwa a chance to push his claims and play a long innings. Annoyingly it looks like he bowled okay so he'll probably stay in the squad for now, but Utseya's recent batting improvements should see the guy gone from the eleven at least.

Interesting selection dilemma's coming up for Kenya, especially if you look at the averages from this series.

Several established players have just not fired and must feel under threat. Bhudia surely has done enough to earn a regular place and Odhiambo clearly needs to be rested.

I still can't understand why Onyango who is 35 gets the nod over Otieno (21) unless the latter is injured. 2009 could well be a rebuilding year for Kenya even if we qualify for the WC.
