Davison

International 12th Man
i think its just trying to make the group stages seem more competitive if u ask me! It builds up some sort of hype and excitation amongst fans and the players....i like the enthusiasm...but on a serious note....

I know its absurd but you really would not rule it out

And Hopefully Davison can get some big scores, but really he is 36 now and Canada dos eem almost dependent on him. We need to see runs from alot of the others in the Canadian team. Ashish Bagai is having a good time, but really he seems to be one of the only others providing. Im expecting Billcliff to bag a few runs aswell, going along nicely on 25 against Bangladesh at the moment

Man if India win the WC, and Canada get to the Super 8 by beating England... I'll be the happiest guy on earth!

Really hoping Canada can take England down. If only to shut up you blindly arrogant supporters.
England supporters don't often have a chance to be arrogant about their team's chances in a ODI, so I don't see how you can begrudge us here!

Ditto

If there is one reason i'd instinctively support almost anyone against England, it'd be because of their media's tendency to crown people 'best ever' in the blink of an eye.
Had enough of 'gascoyane-is-best-thing-since-sliced-bread. Now Shearer-is-next-baggio. Ok, Beckham = Pele. Henman = next only to Sampras/Agassi, Owen=Ronaldo, Pietersen = Viv' kinda hype from english tabloids.

From what i've seen from recent matches and overall statistics Davison isnt really a threat in the world cup.

You could've said that leading into the last WC.
He certainly raised a few eye-brows and made a name for himself in the last one. I'm thinking Ian Billcliff is the one to watch out for this time though (having said that...if NZ bat first, Vincent will get 204* and Bond 6/18)

last WC

but he hit the headlines in the 2003 World Cup when he stunned the West Indies with the fastest World Cup century in history, clubbing half a dozen sixes in a brilliant 111. He followed this up with the third-fastest World Cup fifty against New Zealand

The form he was in last world cup shouldn't really justify his position in the squad after poor form. Although with a team like Canada I guess you would keep someone like him around just in case he does take on attacks yet again.

To commemerate my 2000 post I shall now say thankyou to all those who helped me. Firstly thankyou to my mum, my computer, ........

That was a magical innings.

Loved the commentary by Michael Holding in reference to the West Indian bowlers leaving their brains on the bus.

Brilliant catch by Vasbert Drakes in the end, one of the top catches I have seen.
