Round Nineteen (OD)

Garven Island Sharks v Davistow Darters @ Clowich Stadium

Code:
Garven Island:	Davistow:

Shaukhat	+Jellett
Hanbury Naik
Monaghan	Comley
Tariq Langley
Rose Ehsan
Cunningham	Cassidy
Richards	Kennett
Teague Pradeep
Stuart Waheed
Half-centuries from Dawlat, Naik and Ehsan ensured that the Darters got a healthy total at Clowich, despite three wickets from Xavier Rose. In reply, Garven Island lost Andrew Garven for a golden duck early on, and despite a wonderful 109 from Shaukhat and a determined lower order innings from Dave Richards, the Sharks only totalled 255, losing by 109 runs.

Davistow Darters 364/9 (50 ovs) beat
Garven Island Sharks 255 (44.3 ovs) by 109 runs

Twybridge Titans v Nixonstown Foxes @ Riverside, Twybridge

Code:

Bokey +Gray
Amresh Kumar	Adhikari
Buttsworth	Currie
Weber Grierson
Naidu Sanjeet
+Hale Eccles
White Flanaghan
Cotterill	Riaz
Dolphin Gundry
Amresh Kumar and Bokey hit half-centuries for the Titans, but is was Paddy Gundry and Matt Currie who impressed in the first innings, with four for 55 and two for 49 respectively. Good death bowling kept the Titans down to just 277 at Riverside, and the Foxes paced their chase well, but three wickets from Neil Dolphin saw to it that the Foxes required 65 off 60 with four wickets in hand. Adhikari tried some slogging, and got Weber out of the attack, but his replacement Bokey got one wicket and Cotterill the other, and suddenly the equation was 30 off 24. Gundry rode his luck and played well in the 48th over, hitting Cotterill for eight, but when Flanaghan outside edged Buttsworth the new batsman Riaz needed to hit the last ball for six. A huge inside edge followed, and the Titans could breathe out, having won by five runs.

Twybridge Titans 277/9 (50 ovs)
Nixonstown Foxes 272/9 (50 ovs)

Pickford Panthers v Stedingham Jets @ Pickford Reserve

Code:

Benjamin	Prabhakar Rao
Hepworth	Chaudhari
Jacob Hogarth
****erill	Loganathan
McCrystal	Javed
Bhadauria	Buxton
Roberts Cameron
Tharmi Loganathan and Sam Lowings struggled against the potent batting of Pete Young and Dinu de Silva, who took absolutely everything on at the Reserve. Young took a little over two hours to hit a magnificent 163, while de Silva was cuaght out early for "just" 77. Most bowlers conceded more than eight an over, with the healthy exception of Andy Cameron, who took four for 48. In reply, Sam Lowings and Tharmi Loganathan played well for the seventh wicket to add 79, but with 207 required for the last three wickets the target looked enormous. So it was - despite a half-century from Loganathan and a blistering 41 from Shafiq, the Jets had to be content with 267 and a 125-run loss.

Pickford Panthers 392/9 (50 ovs)
Stedingham Jets 267 (43.4 ovs)

Greater Robbham de Grooters v Edfield Seahawks @ CW Bar Ground

Finnegan	Whitehead
Pardhasaradhi	Shoveller
Mitchell	Derick
Nick Scott impressed with his slow medium-pace dobbers at the Bar Ground, where Edfield Seahawks were set back after early progress by Scott's spell of four for 52. Daniel Towns top-scored with a well-struck 94, while Gary Nayak also managed a half-century before Pardhasaradhi and Mitchell cleaned up the tail. Scott also contributed with a run-a-ball 41, which upped the run rate after Gary Nayak and Keith James had nipped out early wickets, but after the introduction of Edfield's varied spin attack de Grooters had no answer. Sukhvinder and Finnegan managed scores, but Shoveller got figures of three for 14 and Rai also contributed, ending with two for 32.

Edfield Seahawks 298 (49 ovs)
Greater Robbham de Grooters 209 (43.1 ovs)

Gofftown Tigers v Campsfield Braves @ Gofftown Oval

Demeza Jadeja
A stunning opening spell from Greg Thomas, yielding figures of 10-4-28-4, choked the Campsfield top order at teh GOfftown Oval, and Trav Demeza cleaned up with three late wickets as Rich Langdon was left alone on 90 not out. The Tigers started slowly, losing Courtis in the very first over, but Cribb and Malone came into their right towards the end and crafted fine half-centuries. More form for Ben Vaughan as well, who hit 16 not out.

Campsfield Braves 172 (48.1 ovs)
Gofftown Tigers 173/2 (32.3 ovs)

Round Twenty (One Day)

Nixonstown Foxes v Davistow Darters @ Nixonstown Server

Code:

+Gray Kearsley
Adhikari	+Jellett
Currie Langley
Grierson	Comley
Prestwidge	Warwick
Sanjeet Naik
Gundry Hoy
Clancroft	Watt
Edmunds Patrick
The three-man seam attack of Patrick, Watt and Hoy was just too much to handle for the Foxes at Nixonstown, with only Jamee Gray and Adhikari managing to make any substantial score. Gray ground out 61 not out in a slow but crucial innings, while the lower order got mauled by Patrick as he returned unplayable and ended with figures of five for 36. Dylan Jellett then played a magnificent unbeaten 81, well helped by wicket-keeper McDonagh, and not even a double strike from Edmunds prevented the Darters to easing to a six-wicket win.

Nixonstown Foxes 213 (49.5 ovs)
Davistow Darters 214/4 (36 ovs)

Greater Robbham de Grooters v Pickford Panthers @ CW Bar Ground

Pardhasaradhi	Pickup
McKern Roberts
A late rally from Hepworth and Jacob saw the Panthers to a total of 191 at the Bar Ground, after McKern and Beamer Smith had unleashed themselves on the top order and caused four ducks. Hepworth hit 58 not out, however, and his stand of 94 with Jacob helped to set a somewhat competitive target. However, Dobson and Chaulk unleashed themselves early, and a grinding 48 not out from Beamer Smith ensured the victory despite three wickets from Dinu de Silva.

Pickford Panthers 191 (49.4 ovs)
Greater Robbham de Grooters 192/4 (34.2 ovs)

Gofftown Tigers v Stedingham Jets @ Gofftown Oval

Jamaluddin	Prabhakar Rao
Thomas Chaudhari
Thampi Buxton
Demeza Javed
Masterman	Bala
A hattrick from Mehdi Bala stopped the worst of the hitting from Gofftown Tigers in their own Oval, with Rob Malone thundering 140 before he became Bala's first victim. This triggered a batting collapse, and Brendon Goff was left not out on 108 as Bennett, Buxton and Butler got wickets for the Jets. Still, the total of 303 looked very solid, but the Jets started positively in the chase - losing the wickets of Wallis (14) and Butler (33 off 20) in the first 11 overs. Deodhar and Bennett then added 120 in a lovely partnership, and despite a setady flow of wickets from Demeza, the Tigers never got the Jets under control, and Megan Gaukroger anchored the chase with a fine unbeaten 41. Notable was also Sam Lowings' aggressive 40.

Gofftown Tigers 303 (50 ovs)
Stedingham Jets 305/6 (45.1 ovs)

Edfield Seahawks v Twybridge Titans @ PDV Dome

Bharat Crampton
G Nayak Joslin
Mørk Wilshere
GN Nayak	Thompson
Rai Hancock
James Gunn
Whitehead	Weber
MS Smith	Cotterill
Shoveller	McNamara
Alex Crampton dominated the PDV Dome after the Titans opted to bat first, smacking 200 in just 137 balls with healthy support from Wilshere, Thomspon and Hancock. Luke Shoveller choked the lower order with three wickets and ensured that Edfield wouldn't have to chase 400, but the target still looked massive. Neil Barnaby attempted the chase with a thundering 72, but when he was caught by Wilshere, it looked like an uphill climb for the Seahawks. Weber and McNamara then strangled the middle order with tight, patient bowling, and despite 72 from James at number eight, Edfield were bowled out for an inadequate total of 259.

Twybridge Titans 392 (49.1 ovs)
Edfield Seahawks 259 (43.4 ovs)

Garven Island Sharks v Campsfield Braves @ Clowich Stadium

Code:

Edmondson	Langdon
Richards	Wright
Stuart Collins
Bristow Jadeja
Garven Island Sharks opted to bat at Clowich, and committed several major batting crimes against the new-ball bowling of Kyle Wright and Mike Wilson. Wright got three wickets, including Cloete with the third ball of the innings, and with the total just 130 it looked a very task for the Braves to overtake - the Sharks looked to head towards their eighth one-day loss of the season. A blistering start from Dan Smith ensured that Campsfield did get the win, and they were guided home by Alex Blackman (29 not out) and Mike Wilson (23 not out).

Garven Island Sharks 130 (49.5 ovs)
Campsfield Braves 131/3 (26.2 ovs)

Round Twenty-One (3D)

Pickford Panthers v Davistow Darters @ Pickford Reserve

Code:

Benjamin	Langley
Jacob Ehsan
Chopra Warwick
****erill	Hoy
Bhadauria	Chapman
Roberts Cassidy
Pickup Pradeep
Only Dinu de Silva showed resistance with the bat in the first innings, as Pickford crashed to 111 in a little over a session; Nathan Hoy ripped out six wickets in two stunning spells, and Warwick and Langley also chipped in. However, on their own turning pitch, the Panthers knew where to pitch the ball, and took a first-innings lead after George Roberts took the lower order out and Neil Pickup and Dinu de Silva shared top-order wickets; Davistow finished all out for 102. They were set 118 to win after another batting collapse, this time to Harry Warwick, who took five for 41 while Nathan Hoy kept one end tight, and after a stand of 56 between McDonagh and Chris Naik they looked close to victory. Naik eventually made 51 not out, sharing a 34-run fourth-wicket stand with Rich Langley to see the visitors home.

Pickford Panthers 111 & 108 lost to
Davistow Darters 102 & 118-3 by seven wickets
Points: Pickford 3, Davistow 15

Greater Robbham de Grooters v Nixonstown Foxes @ CW Bar Ground

Sukhvinder	Adhikari
MR Smith	Grierson
Robbins +Gray
Tebbut Currie
Palmer Prestwidge
Broadbridge	Sanjeet
Finnegan	Gundry
McKern Clancroft
Mitchell	Edmunds
Greater Robbham never got going with the bat, as Clancroft and Currie ripped through them on the first morning, and sent them reeling to 135 after a positive start at 112 for 3. The Foxes also struggled at the Bar Ground, but 46 from Grierson and gutsy 20-odds from Jamee Gray, Matt Currie and Paddy Gundry sent them to a lead of 58, despite a five-for from Mat Mitchell. Edmunds then cleaned up Robbham with five for 20, as Robbham were bowled out in 19.1 overs, and the Foxes won easily despite a golden duck from Fensome.

Greater Robbham de Grooters 135 & 66 lost to
Nixonstown Foxes 193 & 12-1 by nine wickets
Points: Greater Robbham 0, Nixonstown 14

Twybridge Titans v Gofftown Tigers @ Riverside, Twybridge

Wilshere	Dwyer
Bokey Nash
Thompson	Jamaluddin
Amresh Kumar	Kipling
+Hale Swann
White Thampi
Cotterill	+Patel
McNamara	Masterman
Joslin smashed 149 for the Titans on the first day, but it still wasn't enough to win at the Riverside, because Chris Dwyer continued his fiery form with a blazing 89 in reply. Half-centuries also came from Robert Cribb and Jamaluddin of the Tigers, and they gained a 39-run lead on first innings despite five wickets from McNamara; Dwyer then took three wickets as the Titans crashed to 155 the second time around, and hit an unbeaten 32 to impress on return to grade cricket.

Twybridge Titans 255 & 155 lost to
Gofftown Tigers 294 & 117-3 by seven wickets
Points: Titans 2, Tigers 15

Campsfield Braves v Stedingham Jets @ CWBCC Stadium

Code:
Campsfield:	Stedingham:

Singh Butler
Blackman	Prabhakar Rao
Wilson Lowings
Hasabnis	Chaudhari
Langdon Hogarth
McEwan +Innes
Gooljar Buxton
Jahangir	Bennett
Jadeja Javed
A magnificent century from Chris Butler and a rearguard 54 from Sean Bennett ensured a huge total for the Jets on the first day at the CWBCC Stadium, while Gareth Gooljar bowled his heart out for the Braves and registered five wickets...for 142. With 335 runs to play with on first innings, the Jets struggled to get control, and Dubb-Lynch and Hasabnis ground out hard-fought innings to ensure the Braves were just 75 behind - near the morning of day three. Mike Wilson then celebrated a five-for in the first session, but Hogarth and Innes fought back, and the Jets eventually declared half an hour after tea, setting a target of 254. The Braves started positively, but once Dubb-Lynch was run out, the innings settled down and Bennett got a couple of wickets as the match petered out to a draw.

Stedingham Jets 335 & 178-8 drew with
Campsfield Braves 260 & 149-4
Points: Stedingham 8, Campsfield 6

Garven Island Sharks v Edfield Seahawks @ Clowich Stadium

Shaukhat	James
+Monaghan	Bharat
Tariq Satish Kumar
Richards	Galbraith
Gregory GN Nayak
Piper Whitehead
Teague MS Smith
Bristow Shoveller
Stuart +Baber
Both teams desperately needed points in this bottom-fight, and it was the Sharks who got the best start, as a classic Seahawks' collapse saw them fall to 91 at the hands of Jack Teague, who got six for 23. Stuart and Richards also chipped in with two wickets each. Needing a recovery in the bowling, Matt Smith led from the front with there wickets, but came unstuck when Richards joined Fitzsimmons at the crease. The two blitzed 116 together to give the Sharks a solid lead, and Fitzsimmons carried his bat to 124 - Richards had to make do with 68. Smith and Gaurav Nayak cleaned up the tail, but the Seahawks still trailed by 161 on first innings. Batting again, there was more resistance, but Teague still completed his twelve-for in the match after a marathon innings lasting 111.4 overs. Still, the Sharks had more than a day to chase 106, and though Edfield got a good start when Gaurav Nayak trapped Fitzsimmons lbw, Hanbury and Shaukhat saw the Sharks home safely.

Edfield Seahawks 91 & 266 lost to
Garven Island Sharks 252 & 106-2 by eight wickets
Points: Garven Island 17, Edfield 0

Man Neil's sim either really hates my OD bowling or i suck, probably the fact that i suck. Oh well a fifty was nice, but i think we lost that game. Nice to have Buxton join the team, gives Andy a seam partner and means me and Sean don't have to open the bowling. Also do to see Lowings starting to produce some significate contributions. Things all looking up for the Jets, now lets string a few wins together and make a push to the top of the table.

Neil's sim hates all OD bowling. I do intend to tinker with it over the Easter holidays... but first I need to a) finish Bradstock II, b) finish my electronic scorebook and c) do a few modifications to my East Devon Youth League stat tracker.

Note: When the bowlers do get it right, they get it really right.

(witness number of maidens for Davistow). Think a bit more luck-based wickets and runs might be in order.

good performance to carry the bat through the innings in a 3d game, pity we consistently lose a lot more games than we win!

Well, a good 3D game for me, but not so good in the 1D, the only bowler to get smashed.

Makes me wonder, why am i being picked in the 1D not the 5D for dev? oh well
