Haven't you watched the 2011 WC final ? The only competitive WC final in the last 20 years. At the half way stage and quite a few overs into the second half, SL were favorites to win that.
Actually that was the only final I haven't watched since the 80s. The timezone was awful and I was still cranky that the BCCI had bought the tournament, denying all of the Aussie greats a home World Cup and getting the cup early in the schedule. Watched the 92, 96, 99, 03, 07, 15 finals live.

I think Sub Continent gets one out of every 3 world cups considering that there are 4 test playing nations here. Not saying that it is the right way to go (or wrong way).

And yes, a bit sad to find that Warne, Mcgrath, Ponting, Gilchrist etc never got a home world cup.

Watching highlights from the 2015 WC final. I had forgotten Maxwell bowling out Guptill.

Australia's team is so much worse this time around than 4 years ago. Clarke, Johnson, Faulkner and Hazlewood are all gone. We've replaced them with Cummins, a bad third seamer, Khawaja and Marsh. Every one of them is a downgrade with the exception of Cummins.
I think Cummins might have been in the 2015 squad too? I think I remember him from the Auckland game.

Add Shakib Al Hasan in 2019 to the list.

The most runs ever in a single WC(673 by Sachin) is surely going to be passed, the question is just how many will pass it. My guess is 4 guys

He was, but Cummins is a much better 50 over bowler than he was back then. Had a tendency to be too full early on in those days

John Davison though, what a beast
