Saw on Cricinfo there will be awards voted by the players.

Catergories are Best ODI and Test player.
Best emerging ODI and Test player.

But those are the ones I care about.

I would go for Rahul Dravid as best test player, but that's just me.
Best emerging test player should go to Steve Harmison, but that's just me again.

Let's leave Clarke off the list until he actually proves himself.\

It's emerging he does not have to have proven himself yet.

I would say he is a firm favorite along with a few others.

The award's also has two other catagorys best indervidual ODI & Test performance's.

Will be interesting but the players will probably view it as yet another meaningless award.

For me best test player would go to Murali , best emerging test player to Harmison.

Best ODI player could go to any of the Australian top 3 , Tendulkar , Sehwag , Murali....or a few others , best emerging ODI player to Irfan Pathan or Michael Clarke.

While I think Australia would sweep the best team awards for both forms of the game & Sri Lanka the Spirit of cricket award.

Players eligible for the Emerging Player of the Year award must be under 26-years-of-age at the start of the voting period (1 August 2003) and have played no more than five Test matches and/or 10 One-Day Internationals before the start of the voting period.

so i think harmison wont be considerd as emerging player :D :D
may be pathan
