I think I just listed all the valid picks with All-round records | Test matches | Cricinfo Statsguru | ESPNcricinfo.com and then just scanned through it looking for good players. Since I ended up picking Ranji I might even have sorted them on runs scored. (Don't think I'd have picked Krezja even if I had sorted them on wickets taken).

I decided I wanted to pick my wicket keeperand then checked a few wicketkeepers and found out Dujon lost and thought he was good enough to pick so choose him. Thought it was a good strategy because it was going to be very unlikely anyone else would be looking at wicket keepers and they might be in high demand in later rounds.

Not too difficult to find players to choose from. The difficult part is choosing a player who is very good but is less likely to be picked. Having said that I am not very confident my pick will get through.
