Green's a decent player, surprised NSW had someone of his quality on the bench given how **** their team is. Probably do a better job as a specialist bat than Gibson too.

Strangely enough Green ended up being appointed Guyana captain by the end of the CPL. Actually did a reasonable job of it too.

Haha yeah he ended up with awesome figures in one game I watched when he was captain -- 2/8 off 4 overs or something, after he opened the bowling. His batting didn't really come off in the tournament though; I've been half expecting him to end up playing as a local player in the County Championship as a batting allrounder.

I would drop SOK now that Green is available. Green is more likely to produce a wicket.

A shame that Sangha has left the squad.
Id rather see him than Larkin (definitely) or Carters (maybe).

Carters? Do you mean Gibson perhaps?

But yeah it does feel kind of odd to have Sangha and Copeland in the squad for two games, select them for neither game and then drop them both after losing both games.

And so we gird up our loins for another season starting today. Good luck to everyone who’s having a run.

Especially Parra, of course. 175th season and going strong.

Parramatta has been a club for 50% longer than we've been a nation? That's impressive.

Smith on 28* for Sutherland in his first grade game of the season.

EDIT: Meanwhile in Townsville George Bailey just took a screamer of a catch. Hemphrey gone for 58

Smith made 85,Warner due 2 come out and bat soon,no word on crowds.

QLD 7/316 Lynn 70 off 65,would have made selectors smile.
No allrounder has stood up so far in2 the Faulkner mode yet, time needed.

Good 2 see Zampa back in form the other night,With Agar yet 2 cement his role in the one day side.
Jack Prestidge quick 16 at 7 was bright and breezey.

Josh Hazlewood is back today as well, playing for St George against Warner and the Randy Petes. Hazlewood and Copeland is one seriously good new ball attack by grade cricket standards

Great to see former NSW and Australian batsman, and now Eastern Suburbs club coach Michael Bevan at Charles McLaughlin watching fifth grade today.

I’m surprised the GPS in his Audi knew how to get here.

Easts doing it pretty easy

Was a big fan of his when he was winning WCs for Australia. I don’t know he bloke personally but my understanding is he’s not universally loved and is quite a prickly fella.

There’s the famous story of him having a team bbq at his place and asking the team to chip in for the food he put on. Dunno if it’s true.

Thanks, now that you mention it I do remember that story. If true that is pretty lacklustre.

With Cooper batting at 5 and not in the Shield team how long till he plays for Holland instead. He is still in the Bash wonder if that will satisfy him.
