Most Test matches played without scoring a run?

I just noticed a very interesting fact. Imran Khan is playing his 8th Test match for Pakistan, and is yet to score a Test run.

Is this the biggest number of matches anyone has ever played without getting off the mark in Test cricket?

His bowling stats are pretty decent though, why doesn't he play more for Pakistan?

8 Test matches without a run would be easily the record for a complete career (next best is 3) - it's harder to check if it's the record just for the start of a career.

Incidentally, the other Imran Khan has played 3 T20s for Pakistan, and also hasn't scored a run.

First-class record is apparently 13 matches by John Howarth of Nottinghamshire. Jasprit Bumrah has the record for both ODIs (8) and T20s (21).
