Greatest Tour Match of All Time?

AndrewB

International Vice-Captain
Was thinking about the 1921 Scarbrough Festival game between Australian and an Invitational eleven that was the only game lost on the tour.
They lost at Scarborough against CI Thornton's XI (which was not far off being an England XI) - The Home of CricketArchive, but they'd also lost (more famously) at Eastbourne against Archie MacLaren's "England XI". (which was nowhere near being an England XI - for one thing, its star player was Aubrey Faulkner) - The Home of CricketArchive

129 overs in a day? And were these 8 ball overs as well?

If so would be the equivalent of a team bowling like 170 overs in a day. What happened.

I'm not sure but I think there may have been six ball overs back in England even then

That Invincibles Essex game was 6 ball overs. Looks like a majority bowled by spin. Trevor Bailey played that game and was the bloke who bowled Miller. (Courtesy cricketarchive).
