Batting for a draw XI's

NUFAN

I really enjoy watching how teams handle themselves when trying to bat out a draw in the fourth innings.

What I wanted to know is what XI would you pick for your Country if you had just the one goal, survive 166.4 overs (1000 balls) to draw a Test, thus winning the series.

Assume that you are away from home playing against a team with two quicks and two spinners as the front line and then say a part-time offie and medium pacer. The final day will favour the spinners.

Oh and you have to pick a realistic sort of team to last the 1000 balls, not just 11 bats. Your team needs to include 4 or more front line bowlers.

Nice country OS.

01 Bancroft
02 Warner
03 Cowan
04 Smith
05 Stoinis
06 Nevill
07 Hartley
08 O'Keefe
09 Meenie
10 Copeland
11 Cummins

I have picked Warner as I think he is capable of making a big hundred. Stoinis is potentially lucky to make this team. He is a solid blocker if required and I've picked him ahead of Voges despite his 80 Test average because he has been poor in the fourth innings. Khawaja and Burns haven't really shown fighting qualities in difficult circumstances yet either.

Patterson and Carters were unlucky.

EDIT - I've gone for Pat Cummins at 11. When he is injured I'll bring in Pattinson and when he is injured Lyon. :)

Brian Lara and Bradman to see the team home with triple centuries each after the openers have seen off the new ball. Two spinners on a turning track? No problem.

A bit tough on AB and Faf after their monumental blocking - perhaps give AB the keeping gloves
