It's just the sort of situation that will see Smarsh go large. Fingers crossed that he has gotten over his go large then breed ducks for a few months SOP.

I'd rather Voges scores a pretty average 50 on debut rather than the world's greatest 9, tbh.

Oh what a 9 it would have to be, though. Would be one to tell the grandkids about, for sure.

Will score enough to cement himself as the replacement post Ashes. Then start revert to norm with the team calling for him to have time to adapt. Probably because he's hitting them well in the nets.

A Voges ton and a Darsh king pair the best outcome. I'll be praying hard for the latter.

Tbf, after all the words have been spoken, it all comes down to how Johnson bowls and how well Rhino holds up (for the Ashes). That's where Australia's fate lies.

Nah, it comes down to our batting. The backup bowling is good enough to ensure that we won't have to make a ridiculous amount of runs to win series regardless of what happens (or at least, we ought not to), but in all of 2009, 2010-11 and 2013 it was ultimately the batting which screwed us over.

UAE was an extreme aberration in that regard.

Kinda getting the feeling that bowling success against this WI team won't tell us as much for England as batting success will.

A bit out of the loop on this but why is it Gayle isn't playing apart from wanting some t20 dollyroos and having a Clarke-tier back?

And lel at Voges getting his baggy green from Brendan Julian, should have given it back until someone better came along.
