Worst fielder atm in international cricket

JohnnyA

U19 12th Man
Mark Butcher ... can't catch for ****. Why is he always in the slips? Ok hardly the worst ... but possible the worst "specialist slipper" around ... or is it just my impression :)

Hicky was a pretty awful "specialist slipper" too. Took some blinders against right handed batters ... but seemed to drop about 50% to the south paws.

As Captain, Ganguly really doesn't lead the way when it comes to fielding..he is very lazy.

This is a cricket forum right...? We have to discuss everything positive and negative! Pls don't moderate everything.
Sorry mate - I am just getting frustrated.

Everywhere I turn, there seems to be a negative thread about someone or something, and I just don't see what it achieves.

I mean it doesn't make for the best atmosphere, does it?

It would have to be Simon Jones wouldn't it. Any one who needs a knee reconstruction after trying to field a ball must have flaws with their technique.

No...it wouldn't.

He fielded really well when he was 12th man earlier in the year and on his Test Debut. I'd put down the injury to the difference between English outfields and Australian ones.

And to the almost belief-defying fact that no-one made it very clear to those who'd never fielded in Australia before that you had to watch your studs more carefully.
It was a freak accident and not Jones' fault, but I honestly struggle to believe that people consider it "unavoidable".
However, Jones didn't field especially well on his Test debut; he made most of the simple stops and throws, but he did let one long-barrier attempt through for four.

I agree, but have you watched the news lately? Fact is that people focus more on the negative stuff :(
