Wayne Larkins
Archie Maclaren (c) Mark Nicholas Alan Oakman Eddie Paynter Willie Quaife Jack Russell (w) Brian Statham Fred Trueman Derek Underwood Hedley Verity Physically sickened by my enforced choice at 3. Also disappointed not to have a specialist at 4. Batting overall a bit weak. But a fine bowling line up with 2 top drawer quicks, 2 top drawer spinners and Oakman and Quaife competent back-up seamers. |

^ Only Englishmen allowed or did you forget Nourse, Dudley?
Starting where you please in the alphabet, here's another: Gavaskar Sunil Hobbs Jack Iqbal Asif (not Faisal!!) Jones Dean Kallis Jacques Lara Brian Marsh Rodney Nissar Mohammad O"Reilley Bill Pollock Shaun Qadir Abdul ( 2 good leggies rather than pick Chris Old or Iqbal Qasim. Plus team has Kallis). Opener pair to die for, 2nd best all rounder of all time, bowlers all very good bordering on greatness. Very competent keeper and not a passenger on this crew. Asif Iqbal to captain. Nice work on the teams, looking good. Miandad for Peter May or Phil Mead IMO, and Vaas into the U/V team. Funny how the V team only has leftie medium-fasts and spinners.

I'd drop Wright, move Worrell to opener, promote Walcott to 4 and give Wasim Bari the gloves. The extra batting that you would get from Walcott without the gloves would make up for the deficit left by picking a specialist keeper and having someone good behind the stumps to keep to Warne, Wasim and Waqar is very important IMO. I'd also probably play Walsh over WIllis.

Corrected the leaving out obvious people bits.
Javed Miandad is eleigible for the J's not the M's David Ironside shows the lack of quality quicks the I's have I considered Wasim Bari but I think that I'd get more out of Walcott behind the stumps |

In the S team, you have a whole clutch of Singhs and Sharmas to choose from. For e.g. Harbhajan Singh. |

Mark Ilott, 633 wickets for Essex (and five Tests) might have been an option, although tbf Ironside, who played three times for South Africa in the 50s, took his fc wickets at a better average. Surely the only Test cricketer to have been born in Mozambique?
