Politics will continue to be a dirty game unless good people start getting into it. If anything people like Jayasuriya can bring some honest leadership. I think this is a good move by him.should be fun.. but its really dissapointing to see such a great sportsman go to these lows
Without having to judge politicians' vs sportsmen's characters, it can objectively be said - for the subcontinent where an MP wanna-be is not too high in the food chain - that sportsmen of Jayasuriya's calibre have had much more exposure to the wider world outside their shores.
It definitely expands your thinking, and since MPs make up committees that influence policies, definitely a good side effect there.
