**Official** India In West Indies

Raghav

International Vice-Captain
If the ball doesn't swing or seam, then PK can get clobbered tbh, its very unlikely that the ball would swing or seam in the West Indian condtions, so therefore sticking with Sharma makes a lot more sense, and not only that, he can use a low-profile series like this to improve his OD bowling.
Just as we speak about Praveen, Dhoni calls him for Ishant for the second ODI!

IMO, one of the crappiest thing to do..On the other hand, WI replaces Baker with Rampaul..handy replacement though

Ind 7/3 .... Gambhir and Rohit have been struggling of late so not surprised at the score. may be Ind should consider playing Vijay and Badri instead for the next two games

It's a good opportunity for Yuvi and Dhoni to bat for long! It will be interesting to see how they go abt it

Good to see Praveen in .... Ishant needed a rest

quite a start for india with the bat. three wickets down in two overs. may just forfait and go have a nap on the beach.

Taylor is making things uncomfortable in the middle, with extra pace. Did the Indians have to drop Ishant Sharma so soon? All three pacers are a lot slower than him.

It is easy to get carried away by his potential but based on how he has bowled of late and considering the amount of cricket he has played, he deserves a rest. Cricket is not played on your potential on paper but how you translate it on the field and how you are currently playing

On the other hand, Praveen Kumar who has been on the bench for a while will be fresh and raring to go .... So let's see how he goes

54/4 .... Good chance for YP to get his maiden ODI 100. he has 30 odd overs to do that

The West Indians smashed RP Singh and Nehra all around, under no threat. On the other hand, Ishant's partner Taylor has tied down the Indian top four, even dismissing Yuvraj early, so that's something to think about. Praveen may be raring to go, but does he stand a chance?

Here's a question, although out of time. Do you think Yuvraj should be India's reserve ODI opener? He's got all the big shots, and is a lot more reliable and responsible than the younger batsmen in the team.

As I said it easy to get carried away by what can happen on paper .... Ishant hasn't been bowling well of late so I doubt he would have made a big impact in the game. Take the Ind vs WI [and may be Ind vs Eng too] game in T20 WC. Based on what you said, he should have done well in those games [when similar opposition bowlers did well], but did he?

We don't know. Ishant came in rather late, bowled only five overs in the last match, but it's not so much his own skill as what his opposite number is doing. Besides, RP Singh was in great form in the IPL but couldn't replicate that form in the World T20 and was smashed all around in the previous match. Nehra was in decent form but went for a little too many in the last match. To take a batting example, Rohit Sharma was running hot until the IPL, and since, he's been a liability, so sometimes, form isn't everything.
