does any one have a complete bio of owais? I know he was born in karachi but when did he come to england? Did he play cricket in pakistan as a child?

I'm not even sure his family weren't already resident in England by the time of his birth, and just happened to be in Pakistan at the time.

Certainly he's lived in England for virtually his entire life, you can tell that by his accent. I'm pretty sure his parents are both Pakistanis though.

I don't have a ref, but I saw an interview with him that he'd been used to playing in the street in Pakistan and when he did that when he came to England it was seen where he lived as a bit out of the ordinary or something. My impression was that he was something like 8-10 years old when he moved.

I remembered reading an article on Owais in The Guardian ages ago & a bit of Googling found it for me. Linky.

According to Paul Weaver:

Shah was born in Karachi, left when he was "seven or eight", returned when he was "11 or 12" and came to England for good when he was 15.
