Association Cricket League (A Simulation)

NZTailender

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Hello all.

Some of you may know and love WCC - the World Club Cricket simulation league that is run on cricket web.
Some of you may love Association Nation cricket cups which fascinate me, personally.
I thought I'd combine the two and create an Assocation Cricket League simulation here on Cricketweb with these fundamental differences from the WCC:
- No trading.
- All real life players
- No drafting
- Multiple games a week
- Different team submission style

Basically, the League will be as follows.
There will be six teams (Bermuda, Canada, Ireland, Kenya, Netherlands and Scotland) each managed by just one manager (at this point in time). There will be 14 players in each set players in each squad.
I was thinking games could take place on each week day, with the weekend a time for breathing and for stats, fixtures etc. to be posted.
Rather than submitting a team each day, a default XI will be used for each game UNLESS a manager decides to make a change. If he wishes to, he can post an alternate XI to the default one. This means we wont have issues with teams not being posted, and rewards active managers.
There will be at least 10 home and away rounds.
Managers may choose at the beginning their ground settings in the form of Pace-Movement-Turn on a scale of 0-10.
All games will be simmed using VC4.
There will be a T20 league as well as a T20 cup. Same goes for List A.
The cups will be run at the halfway point of the season.
"Tests" will be a full 5 days long, as opposed to a 4 day competition.
I was thinking the structure of the weekly fixture would be:
Monday: FC
Tuesday: OD
Wednesday: FC
Thursday: OD
Friday: 2x T20
Meaning each team will play another in a full home and away series during a week.
As mentioned, there will be no trading, or a draft. Due to the small squad size, there will be no injuries either.

I'm in the middle of making the squads so they will be published soon. This is basically a test project for me so the small scale is deliberate.

Managers who wish to take part will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Please state your name, the country you wish to manage and your email address.

Teams:
Bermuda - Håkon Mørk (Samuel_Vimes)
Canada - Mathew Mitchell (Matteh)
Ireland - Sunil Reddy (sunilreddy)
Kenya - Raghav Suryadevara (Raghav)
Netherlands - Zac Gelman (pasag)
Scotland - Liam Howgate (Pup_Clarke)

Going to leave the ones which have candidates.

As such, I take Bermuda, and aim to avoid last place. Håkon Mørk, haakon dot moerk at gmail dot com.

I'd play if I could be any one of the Pacific Islands.... or Papua New Guinea I guess. Looks unlikely, so I'll leave the way clear for someone else.

All positions filled. Tentative starting date is next Monday. More info will be posted between now and then.

Notice.

Could all managers provide the following:

A default XI for List A.
A default XI for First Class.
A default XI for Twenty/20.
Bowling orders.

Bowling orders are simple. You choose when each bowler bowls. I.e. S Tikolo set at 1 will have him open the bowling. While 5 will see him as the the.

"Overs per match" play a role in this. The higher the OPM, the more likely they'll bowl and the more they'll bowl. A bowler with an OPM of 20 bowling at 5 will bowl more than a bowler with 6opm bowling at 4.

Also, ground conditions.

Ground conditions are simple. 0 means low, or nothing. 10 is the highest. A spin rating of 10 will be great for spinners, for instance.

If it's feasible, we might kick off the competition with the Twenty20 cup rather than have two cups in a row.

Instead of a game each day, there will be four games a week. 1 FC, 1 OD and 2 T20. One team will host the other at home for that week.

Regardless, here are the fixtures:

T20 Cup

Group 1
Burmuda
Ireland
Kenya

Group 2
Scotland
Netherlands
Canada

Scotland vs Netherlands
Netherlands vs Canada
