I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Hello all.
Some of you may know and love WCC - the World Club Cricket simulation league that is run on cricket web.
Some of you may love Association Nation cricket cups which fascinate me, personally.
I thought I'd combine the two and create an Assocation Cricket League simulation here on Cricketweb with these fundamental differences from the WCC:
- No trading.
- All real life players
- No drafting
- Multiple games a week
- Different team submission style
Basically, the League will be as follows.
There will be six teams (Bermuda, Canada, Ireland, Kenya, Netherlands and Scotland) each managed by just one manager (at this point in time). There will be 14 players in each set players in each squad.
I was thinking games could take place on each week day, with the weekend a time for breathing and for stats, fixtures etc. to be posted.
Rather than submitting a team each day, a default XI will be used for each game UNLESS a manager decides to make a change. If he wishes to, he can post an alternate XI to the default one. This means we wont have issues with teams not being posted, and rewards active managers.
There will be at least 10 home and away rounds.
Managers may choose at the beginning their ground settings in the form of Pace-Movement-Turn on a scale of 0-10.
All games will be simmed using VC4.
There will be a T20 league as well as a T20 cup. Same goes for List A.
The cups will be run at the halfway point of the season.
"Tests" will be a full 5 days long, as opposed to a 4 day competition.
I was thinking the structure of the weekly fixture would be:
Monday: FC
Tuesday: OD
Wednesday: FC
Thursday: OD
Friday: 2x T20
Meaning each team will play another in a full home and away series during a week.
As mentioned, there will be no trading, or a draft. Due to the small squad size, there will be no injuries either.
I'm in the middle of making the squads so they will be published soon. This is basically a test project for me so the small scale is deliberate.
Managers who wish to take part will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Please state your name, the country you wish to manage and your email address.
Teams:
Bermuda - Håkon Mørk (Samuel_Vimes)
Canada - Mathew Mitchell (Matteh)
Ireland - Sunil Reddy (sunilreddy)
Kenya - Raghav Suryadevara (Raghav)
Netherlands - Zac Gelman (pasag)
Scotland - Liam Howgate (Pup_Clarke)
