That is apparently (quoted by Mike Selvey on TMS) the number of Test Matches each Country will have played between April 2006 and October 2007.
Isn't that slightly odd scheduling?

Why would it be odd? What does the number of Australian test matches have to do with the English ones? NZ isn't playing any test for like the next year. Every team has that type of thing.

Nothing, but that's not the point. 5 Test Matches in 18 months - all in a two month period is ridiculous, as is New Zealand not playing for a year if that's true.

World cup year as well. Australia's slow schedule can be explained by the world cup and the fact that they got Zimbabwe this year which almost certainly won't eventuate, but 2008 is really packed for us with 7 home tests and three tours that year. You'd think a few of those games could be pushed over into '07.

England played 19 tests and a world cup in that period is a bit over the top too.

Yeah, but we might only get 3 games in the Wc so it's no major worry

We'll always have a steady flow of Test matches I guess, seems as our season is at a different time to everybody else's, and seems as a winter doesn't go by without us touring.

England always play all year round these days, two teams at home in the summer then two tours (or one if it's an Ashes tour) in the winter. Every other team gets break periods every now and then. Just bad luck of being in the northern hemisphere really.
