An Australian Team all under the age of 30

I've been talking with some Aussies in the last few months since I started playing an online cricket manager game. They've given me a bit of an insight into cricket in Australia and so from what they've been saying and from stats off of the Australian Cricinfo site.

Tests
1-Phil Jaques (should be playing for us)
2-Chris Rogers (has a good record over here)
3-Mark Cosgrove (if he can lose 30 or 40 kilos he will be gold  )
4-Shane Watson (Is an awesome batter and have had the plesure of watching him make 200)
5-Michal Clarke (Good Fielder and handy batter)
6-Adam Voges (Have heard he knows how to make runs and can bowl a bit of spin)
7-Brad Haddin (only 29 and will replace Gilchrist for sure)
8-Dan Cullen / Andrew Heal is it? (australia are a bit light on in spinners)
9-Ben Hilfenhause (One of the guys i play that game with went to school with this guy 8-) )
10-Michael Johnson (Looks like he could have what it takes. Looked good in ICC trophey)
11-Shaun Tait (Saw a bit of him over here last ashes but seems to have dissapeared)

1. Upul Tharanga
2. Micheal Vandort/Mahela Udawatte
3. Malinda Warnapura
4. Kumar Sangakkara (wk)
5. Mahela Jayawardene (c)
6. Chamara Kapugedera
7. Chamara Silva/Kaushal Silva (wk)
8. Farveez Maharoof
9. Angelo Mathews/Suraj Mohamed
10. Malinga Bandara
11. Lasith Malinga

- Suraj Mohamed as the 2nd spinner
- Kaushal Silva if they want to play Sangakkara as specialist batsmen

Looks ok IMO, the bowling attack is pretty weak especially pace attack, but Maharoof and Mathews are both all rounders, so they can add something with the bat.

Pakistan U-30 XI (plus reserves)
1. Imran Farhat
2. Salman Butt
3. Yasir Hameed
4. Younis Khan*
5. Faisal Iqbal
6. Shahid Afridi
7. Abdul Razzaq
8. Kamran Akmal+
9. Umar Gul
10. Danish Kaneria
11. Mohammad Asif

Shoaib Malik
Naved-ul-Hasan
Shahid Nazir
Bazid Khan
Mohammad Sami
Iftikhar Anjum

A good squad of 17 made up only of centrally contracted players. This is what the side should look like when Inzi, Yousuf, and Shoaib retire. Probably the only country in the world with so many young contracted players.

Phil Jaques fcbat.ave: 57.30
Chris Rogers fcbat.ave: 49.63
Shane Watson fcbat.ave: 49.50 fcbowl.ave: 30.94
Michael Clarke fcbat.ave: 41.02
Dominic Thornely fcbat.ave: 43.22
David Hussey fcbat.ave: 49.38
Brad Haddin fcbat.ave: 38.85
Cameron White fcbat.ave: 36.92 fcbowl.ave: 37.80
Nathan Bracken fcbowl.ave: 26.55
Mitchell Johnson fcbowl.ave: 27.90
Shaun Tait fcbowl.ave: 26.94

12th man Ben Hilfenhaus fcbowl.ave: 29.60

Haddin to captain, or maybe White, with Clarke as second spinner and Thornely as a useful 5th seamer. In ODIs maybe bring in Hauritz or Simpson as a spinner. If Macgill was under 30 or there was an under 30 leggie as good as him around, then this team could win the ashes. I actually think it has much better balance than the current team, especially if they could find that young slow strike bowler.

Surely Shoaib Malik or Yasir Hameed would be in the starting XI? Probably in place of Bazid Khan I would've thought.

I was picking a Test side and figured it already had enough allrounders, so I left out Malik.

Yeah, Yasir would probably be in for Bazid though.

Interesting to note that the only one of that top 6 in the Australian Test Team is the one with the lowest batting average.

India Under-30: This is an immediate XI. Not that it's much of a concern, since performers from the domestic scene or the development team will soon make it. Besides, some will already go past 30 by the time a few veterans retire.
  • Sehwag
  • Gambhir
  • Kaif
  • Yuvraj
  • Badrinath
  • Dhoni (WK)
  • Irfan (LMF)
  • Joginder Sharma (RMF)
  • Powar (OB)
  • Zaheer (LFM)
  • Sreesanth (RFM)
  • RESERVES: Harbhajan (OB), Gagandeep (RMF), Chopra, Raina
There will also be a few reserves who will stand a chance of making this team then.

That is interesting. I would mention he's also a Blue, but Jaques is too and the selectors haven't done him any favours.
