New umpires added to Elite Panel

Billy Doctrove went well in the Aus v SAf series. He did treat Warne well. Benson also looks OK but agree that Lloyds is better.

Bucknor and Harper though should have been dropped. Bucknor is not a shadow of his former self. He used to be one of the best in the business but he has fallen away badly in the last couple of years. Harper has never been good.

I think it also sad that Taufel cannot umpire matches featuring Australia. He is the best by a long way. The Ashes later in the year will be the best against the next best and therefore the best umpire should officiate.

Billy Doctrove seems very much like a "Not Out" umpire. Not necessarily a bad thing. But yeah, reasonably reluctant to fire people out. Was a bit like that in SL too.

Bucknor has actually been nowhere near as bad the last year as he was for the previous 3 years before that.

No, they should not. The reason why Umpires have been debarred from officiating in Tests involving their own team is not because of suspicion of bias from most people. It's to completely remove all chance of anyone suspecting anything. Which is neccessary to cut down on dissent.

Oh, Asad Rauf, too.
And almost invariably, they've been right when saying not-out.
To me, that simply says that the matches we've so far seen them in have seen few batsmen being out lbw.
