In an unexpected 11th hour team change, 999ers manager Jamee Gray announced just one hour before the start of the team's match vs the Magical Ponies that rookie bowler Carlton Bonner would be playing the match in place of veteran seamer Anthony Fitzpatrick.

This game will be a major test for the 999ers Youth Academy, as five of the players are home-grown.

The Magical Ponies will be fielding what manager Andy Cameron believes to be a full strength XI for their ever important match up against Jamee's 999ers. The team is almost identical to the line up that has got the team thus far, only with 17 year old batsman Daniel Hurren replacing Anthony Donohoe at number 8, with management believing now is the right time to start grooming the youngster for future years to come. Cameron went on record today saying that, regardless of how many emergency, last minute changes the 999ers makes to its team, the Ponies will always be confident of progressing comfortably into the next round.

Steve Farmer
Charlie Terry +
Hamish Tedstone
Gavin Canning
Greg Griffin
Rick Kilkenny
Daniel Hurren
Samiyh Fernando
Joe Erasmus

2.1 W Bardle to Farmer
That's got him, brilliant slower delivery there from Bardle that got Farmer in all sorts of bother. You have to pick your times to bowl those, and Bardle certainly did that. Great variation of pace.

7.6 W Kealey to Burger
Dances down the wicket and takes a huge swipe at the ball but it goes straight through to Wanless who whips the bails off and Burger just keeps on walking.

9.4 W Kealey to Terry
Defensive shot by Terry goes terribly wrong. The ball flicks the outside edge and goes through to Wanless for an easy catch.

Am dirty about Terry, needed him to stay in. Wouldn't be surprised if I lose this, hate batting first. Looks like it's up to Canning again.
Am gladly off to dinner though, so will have to see the damage when I get back.

End of Over 10: 46-2, runrate=4.60
Ogrady 5-0-26-0
Edgehill* 19 (29 balls)
Speare 17 (24 balls)

Last Wicket: Handbury lbw b. Mabudafhasi 7 (FOW: 10/2)

This is about as good as it'll get I think. My bowlers should get pasted to all parts from here on in. Happy to prise out the two openers though, one of whom could bat a bit. Unfortunately, so can the next 4 or 5.

End of Over 11: 57-1, runrate=5.18
Carlton 1-0-4-0
James* 26 (31 balls)
Virk 7 (11 balls)
Last Wicket: Herbert c. Jeffery b. Bewers 20 (FOW: 47/1)

Good start. Bewers is out of the attack already. Expect hundreds from these blokes now, then defend 290.

12.5 W Bardle to Tedstone
A quick single here, and... Oh! Great fielding by Bunce! A seamless pick up and throw at one stump and Tedstone is out by a yard.

44/5!

13.5 W Kealey to Griffin
Griffin hit that one right up the chimney and Kealey catches it easily.

18.4 W Bardle to Kilkenny
That's lofted to long off and caught easily by Kealey. Bardle bounds around the place like a three-year-old chasing a butterfly in the park, Kealey plays it cool.
