Bowling is far more important than a number 7 batsman (who might alter the result 1 game in 200). I would sell that proficient bat because you'll probably get 300k for them even tho they're practically useless to you. I'd keep Malik because those guys on 2 bowling nets will need a rest every so often. Malik isn't particularly bad tho so you might want to just rake in the interest while you'd have over 1 million in the bank and build up to an amount that'll get you more than a solid strong bowler.

Christ there are a lot of potential trainees there, first thought is to get more nets on Meyer and if you're not going to train Walton sell him because you'll get a fair bit of cash for them (their wage is low for what they are, so they wouldn't pop for ages if you trained them and they'll just drop in value if you wait til they're older).

I'll have a proper look in an hour.

PY

International Coach
That's what I thought, he's got more trainees than I have and I've got too many!

These are my thoughts, I'm not as good as some people here at picking them though:

Appleyard - 2 bat, 1 fitness (until he gets to comp, maybe further later on)
Stroud - 1 bat, 1 bowling, 1 fitness
Taylor - 1 fitness
Savage - 1 bowl, 1 fitness
Meyer - 1 bowl (and as soon as Appleyard's fitness pops, I'd give a batting net to Meyer)

Look at selling one of the better guys like Groves or Walton or Rose because you won't have the nets to make them guns IMO so you may as well cash in. Depends if you mind selling people who could be good but probably won't be. For now, I'd prioritise looking for 5 players in your squad and give them 2 nets each.

Slightly difficult to choose some of them though because need wages to know how close some of them are to popping. Another help would be posting the wages of the chaps with a single decent primary because it's possible to estimate how close they are to popping.

Actually i have considered selling Walton, i've had him for 4 weeks, and both his bowling & stamina have popped...

Problem with Meyer is i'm not sure if i should give him a bowling or batting net, i suppose though if i sold Walton i'd give him a bowling as i'd be 1 bowler short.

His batting, consistency & stamina have all popped since june...he's been my best batsmen since i've had him playing...and i'm tossing up whether to give him or rose the 3rd batting net...

I would leave off the fitness nets apart from 1 a week, which would go to Savage and then probably Taylor later on. Fitness nets have a fair PFL hit, so it's usually better to just have one and increase that to 3-4 in the off-season. Stroud is a tough call because his bowling is fairly useless and is below that of many (>5) other of your players, however if you sell them then you'd get the value for that bowling which is otherwise practically useless in your team.

You have lots of nice looking potential players but no-one who's that good, which is why I'd suggest putting batting, bowling and fielding into Meyer - at the end of the season he'd be worth 1 million easily - next season have at least bowling, a bowling all-rounder is always more favourable because a player always gets to bat anyway whereas only the best 5 get a bowl.

Anyway here's what I'd go with:

Appleyard 1 bat
Groves 1 bowl
Ludlow 1 bat
Meyer 1 bowl, 1 bat, 1 field
Savage 1 bowl, 1 fitness

then split the rest between Rose, Stroud and Walton depending on which ones you sell. It's a close call with Kandage, they look like they'll pop pretty soon, but they're only mediocre to start with so that's a pretty poor starting point.

Thanks Scaly!!!!!

Appreciate that very much...i've gone with your suggestions...and i think i'll hoik 1 fitness net as suggested, and give Kandage 1 bowling net, then sell him. Once he's sold, i'd either look for a decent spinner, or give the batting net to Stroud.

Walton i will put on the market, as he has had 2 pops in the short time since i bought him, so i should make a bit of dosh there...Once either Appleyard or Ludlow pop, then i will sell Rose...

Thanks again for the help :-)

Does the condition of your youth academy effect the maximun number of ITS you are able to allocate to a player?? Being only in my second season i have concentrated on just buying/selling players on the market, and had up until the last month, allocated no money whatsoever to ITS, so i'm relatively new to the concept.

Currently i have 19 ITS, and my academy condition is feeble...approx. how long would it take to increase the condition of my Academy to a standard where my YP's are capable making a net profit when i sell them???

Once again, thanks in advance to any able to give me some advice

Robertinho

Cricketer Of The Year
Increasing the condition of your academy is done through paying 30,000 for an upgrade. I'm not sure of the figures, but at the most it'll take 2 upgrades to go up a level (feeble -> mediocre), mostly 1. The higher your academy condition goes, the more ITS you can allocate to your players.

Cheers....

1 other question...is there anyway of knowing (apart from experience) what a players skill will be when pulled, by the number of ITS allocated (depending on academy condition of course) to a certain skill?

Eg. If i have a mediocre Acadmeny, and allocate 7 ITS to batting...how will i know what his batting level will be when pulled ??? Is it a set thing, or does it vary between players ?

Robertinho

Cricketer Of The Year
Basically, what happens is - your YP is randomly assigned base stats (ie; with no ITS added on), these range from worthless (very common) to respectable (very rare). Until you pull him, you have no idea what these are. 12 ITS guarantees at least mediocre. I might add the only bearing that the condition of your academy has on your YPs is the amount of ITS you can give him.

Nets atm McEwan (2 batting), Challinor(1 bat, 1 Fitness), Norris(2 Bowling), Pearce(1 bowl, 1 field), Islam (1 bowl), Heather 1 fitness.

Howard is listed, i want Howell to be my new wickie so im thinking of taking the fitness nets off Heather(my captain but Challinor, Howell and Pearce are only 1 level less and Challinor has better experience) and Challinor(give him some at the end of the season or something) and giving Howell a keeping net and batting net. Thoughts?

This guy is all over the place, firstly decide is he an batting allrounder or bowling allrounder. my advice make him into a batting allrounder. So give him 2 batting, 1 fielding and 2 fitness. his stamina at the moment will make him a poor allrounder. Or you could 1 batting 1 bowling 1 fielding 1 keeper + 2 fitness = a lot of nets.

andyc

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Why does he have to be either a batting or bowling allrounder? He's a gun, and the current nets that he's got him on at the moment are fine. There's not much point in giving him a second fitness net, IMO, and it'd be better off going towards a primary. If he had four nets available, I'd keep what he has right now. If it got stepped up to five nets, then Tharmi should be deciding whether he needs a batting or bowling allrounder, and give it to the corresponding skill. As for Jeithoon, the third bowling net would be better off on fielding, in my opinion, but that's probably just because I'm not a big fan of third primary nets.

PY

International Coach
Third primary nets are next to useless, as you get ~40% of the net value I believe.

Stick to two max and give him a fielding net.

Solved this problem a while ago guys.

I decided to spread my nets across all my trainees:

Muralitharan: 1 bat, 1 bowl & 1 fitness
Jeithoon: 2 bowl, 1 fitness
Quintin: 1 bat
Clayton: 1 bat
Ellis: 1 bat
Ferrier: 1 bat

Im not sure why i have to choose whether Murali needs to be a batting all rounder or bowling. His even in both areas and actually popped the same week in batting and bowling.
