3rd Test at Headingley, Leeds

Carey is a terrible keeper though, particularly standing up.

You shouldn't feel bad if you lose the series. I know from recent experience how it hurts losing to anyone when you're playing at home, but surely even someone who takes themselves as seriously as you must see the irony in having a crack at Australia's batting line up given what England is putting out as well.

I mean I picked Aus to win specifically because England put out the ****test batting line up to ever wear the shirt, so I have no idea what irony you speak of tbh. I just underestimated Aus line up being so poor, but I expect Warner will come good soon - changes the complexion of things quite a lot.

Yes, tonight would be a good time for him to step up.

And by step up I mean actually take a ****ing catch. Baby steps and all

If we lose 2/3 nil to this Aussie team it is worse than the whitewashes imo. Tim ****ing Paine, he filts between you playing with 10 players to us playing with 12 when he starts actively helping us,
I cant help but feel some of the comments directed at Australian team somewhat under estimate them.

Not many teams in the world can claim that they arguably have worlds best batsman (Smith), best bowler (Cummins), best spinner (Lyon) and the best opener [Warner (yeah out of form etc but opener standers aren't that great right now are they)]. Beside that there are group of excellent fast bowlers to chose from and at least couple of test quality batsmen such as Khawaja and Head. Not saying there are some spuds in the eleven but all teams have them these days. I personally feel Australia are far superior unit to England over all and the only reason this series is competitive is because it is played in England. Play this in Australia or anywhere else for that matter and this will be an absolute blood bath for England.

Now i've said this, i fully expect Broad to get 7 for 20 and Aust to collapse for 75 or something

I think Tom Flint should concentrate on being one of CW's worst sporadic posters (which he plainly is) rather than carry on with these type of antics in the lead up to a test match. He is clearly trying to do nothing more than distract other members with his exaggerated and misguided gestures.
Distracting lol

No way will England not win a Test IMO. There'll be at least one Test where you shoot us out for <100 or something.

nah Gob, this Aussie team is pretty ordinary on the whole. The bowling is excellent, probably one of (or even the) best in the world. But without Smith the batting is absolutely pathetic.

Australia lost 3 nil to Sri Lanka not too long ago with all the guys you just mentioned so I wouldn't type them up too much. We arent a good test team too which is mainly down our selectors picking the wrong players or batting them in their wrong positions.
And yes if this series was played in Australia you would win comfortably.

Oh yeah without him its poor but when he is in its like having two batsman in one.

i have to clarify that without Smith the batting is extremely poor. If England can't win here they wont get a better chance

Yeah they do have quality players to be fair, i probably am being harsh. The Aussie pace battery is just crazy, feel like we've spoken about the potential line up for donkeys years and it is finally here (and Siddle).

Yeah they have been talking about the four horse men for years (Cummins, Pattinson, Hazlewood, Starc) and when they are all finally fit, they play Peter ****ing Siddle.

To be fair to him, Siddle never lets Aus down against England. I remember when KP was his bunny for a while because he clearly didn't rate him so kept trying to belt him.

The worst thing is that we've played the footnote in both games so far.

But Australia sans-Smith lost to India at home despite having Starc-Haze-Cummins-Lyon. That's how bad it has been.

Still, the best line-up we can put out for this test is

Warner
Harris
Khawaja
Labuschagne
Head
Wade
Paine
Pattinson
Cummins
Lyon
Hazelwood

And it looks like that might be the side we play.

Labuschagne looked like he knew which end to hold, didn't really get out either. His tweakers are better than part time as well aren't they?

He is alright but nothing special with the ball. Gives it a decent rip but can bowl some loose stuff. Recent form is decent, was pretty good for Glamorgan but they were not playing a specialist spinner
