Wow, the leave is proving pretty disastrous so far. Broady bowling really well, to be fair his figures don't do him justice so far in this series as he hasn't been that bad. Khawaja average now lower than his age.

Over 0.2: Putland to Nevill, OUT, no run, full ball swings in late to crash into his pads. Nevill is almost falling over trying to get bat on it but can't. Huge shout for LBW and Umpire Martell eventually raises the finger! P.Nevill - lbw b:Putland 0 (1 ball, 1 minute).

Nor are 2 or 3 more of the top 6 bats in the squad. Good bowling unit and batting is all about Clarke.

Key partnership here. Was hoping to have 3 down at lunch and standing by that for now.

Aussies bowled well as a unit yesterday as they have throughout the summer. Yes England could have batted better but they weren't allowed to for the majority of the time and had brainfarts due to pressure.

Safe to say today if Australia get skittled for less than 200 that no credit can be given to the bowlers as it all the bats fault.
You might want to try reading.

What pressure was there when England were 100odd for 1 or 149 for 2 and runs were coming at a decent pace?

England screwed it up and then didn't have the mental strength to play their own game. Then screwed it up some more.

Well that's my memory going back since the 80s. You have me looking at scorecards at the moment for recent form - so far what I notice is that if both openers get less than 50 then Aussie struggles to make 300. But I am still going through scorecards so may be wrong.

Proudly against the bring back Bennett movement since he is injury prone and won't last 5 days.

A boundary there, but I like the fact that Jimmy's going for the full length. Mix it up a bit, and you're pretty sure to get a wicket.
