hard to think of worse possible preparation. There’s something almost poetic in how terrible Bangladesh have been in this tournament.Bangladesh preparing those dodgy pitches before this tournament really coming back to bite them.
Honestly they should try to do it in less than that. We'll all be surprised if Australia need ten overs to chase this down. Others may want to work out what this does to their NRR.
Yes, I totally agree.Honestly they should try to do it in less than that.
To overtake South Africa's NRR they need to chase it down in 15 overs and 3 balls, according to the back of my envelope. We'll all be surprised if Australia need ten overs to chase this down. Others may want to work out what this does to their NRR.
Wickets don't matter for NRR at all unless you end up all out.Would Australia chasimg this down in the first 6 but losing a few wickets or chasing it in 10 with 9 wickets in tact be better for NRR
Of the reasons why it sucks, this is probably the biggestWickets don't matter for NRR at all unless you end up all out.
I suppose it would take one heck of an algorithm to sort that one out. Maybe use D/L to extend both sides' innings to the full 20 overs if the team batting second wins? As we discussed the other day, the result between two sides with the same number of points seems the fairest way to separate them.Of the reasons why it sucks, this is probably the biggest
I suggested this during the last 50 over WC and people haaaated it. Howe got a less frosty reception for the same suggestion the other day -- I think more people are starting to realise just how awful NRR is, making the other imperfect solutions seem more palatable.I suppose it would take one heck of an algorithm to sort that one out. Maye use D/L to extend both sides' innings to the full 20 overs?
clearly wasn't imo. no spinner hat-trick can possibly rely on wade taking two catches and Zampa was foolish to consider itFmd perfect hat trick ball.
