I don't like the idea of making things like this an annual event. If it was merely something added to the schedule when there was a quiet period fine, but there are already so many matches that simply have to be fitted in some place each year (thanks to the ICC) that you're inevitably going to create more ridiculous cricket scheduling like England in South Africa and the then resultant mass of injuries.

A novel thought, but as Chingoka is on the selection panel, I think we'll see Precious Ramotswe picked for Africa before Andy Flower!

And yes, it's another unnecessary gimmick.

I think they should choose that Burger fellow.. the Namibian guy who made a half-century against England...

JB Burger wouldnt be the worst selection, but I dont see him getting a spot over Smith, Gibbs, Kallis, Tikolo etc.

As for De Villiers, we must remember that these are ONE DAY games.

Also, who exactly will be available? What about Goodwin? Flower? Price? They obviously dont want to play for Zim, but would they consider making themselves available for this game?

1 Graeme SMITH
4 Herschelle GIBBS
3 Jaques KALLIS
4 Murray GOODWIN
5 Andy FLOWER
6 Steve TIKOLO
7 Mark BOUCHER
8 Shaun POLLOCK
9 Heath STREAK
10 Makaya NTINI
11 Andre NEL

an Asia vs Oceania vs Europe tri series would be awesome if they decide to organize one..

Europe to have choice from England, West Indies, and the other minnow nations..

Another excuse to make money.

Players are already complaining about too much cricket, so an idea to have an Asian side play what will pretty much be South Africa is a waste of time.

I have often thought of this concept but dividing the globe to make decent opponents is a bit of a problem. The best onc can think of is divide the five main continents into three teams.
1 ASIA
2. AFRICA + AMERICAS
3. EUROPE + OCEANA

Of course Oceana could combine with Africas and Americas with Europe.

Another possibility, I think a better one could be

1. An ASIAN team
2. An ASHES team
3. The REST

Oh you never know MB it could turn out be an interesting series, unless I'm thinking what you are thinking in that it is pointless?

Tell me, when was the last time the ICC did anything right in our opinion? Never?

Would it just make it an invitianal XI??

Of course I hope our opening batsman for Oceania and Aericas and Europe Diego Gaúcho (a made up Brazlian person*) lives up to his selection ahead of Chris Gayle.

*Any links to a person actually named Diego Gaúcho which there probably is completely by circumstance whether he is living or dead.

Northern Hemisphere vs Southern Hemisphere might be interesting.

Really though, the Super Series between the top side and the World XI is a good idea, this is rubbish.

If its for charity then fine, once every 2 or 3 years. But if its just another money spinner it's a waste of time. The African side is essentially going to be South Africa with a few token Zimbabwe players & maybe 1 Kenyan or Namibian player if they're lucky.

We're going to be saturated with these events, and people are going to get sick of them pretty quickly.
There seems to be an obsession, particularly on the sub-continent to play these goodwill fixtures at the moment. To try and get 4 or 5 countries to combine for a series is almost impossible now because there is an international fixture nearly every week during the year.

Yeah, your right Craig, the cricket might be interesting. I just think it's completely a waste of time. The idea of novelty cricket is wearing thin...
