Match 38 - New Zealand v Sri Lanka

This might as well go in the match thread. Hope this is no problem James/ mods.

Tuffey has been called into the squad as cover for Mills and both Mills and Vettori will miss the Sri Lanka match. Hopeful that both will be fit for the quarterfinal but it's obviously not guaranteed, for Mills particularly I think. Needless to say this could be a big problem.

The folly of having a lot of overs bowled by Ryder/ Williamson/ Styris/ Franklin was shown even against lowly Canada in the last match. Of those four Styris is the only one who is semi-dependable with the ball.

As the article states, Bennett in for Mills and Williamson likely to replace Vettori as he did last match. Question marks over what Woodcock's role in the squad is (taken over Raro duties from Jeets).

With our two best bowlers out, the best chance for NZ is to bat first and try to put a huge total on the board. Bennett replaces Mills and we keep Williamson in to lengthen the batting order. I feel for Woody, but with all due respect to him, I doubt he would really trouble the SL batsmen.
