I'll agree with you there. Though for Pakistan the selectors may just pick Smith ahead of Pollard and play Collymore as well.

Corey Collymore is infinitely better than Daren Powell.
Clearly you've not seen much of either bowler if you'd pick Powell first.

Collymore is clearly better in test cricket but with Powell's recent form being good and IMO Collymore on flat pitches if there isn't any movement will struggle as he relies so much on seam movement.I'm not doubting him as a very good test bowler but in the one day game I'm not so sure about him.Powell will go for a few more runs but IMO I feel he'll be more of a wicket taker.

What does Powell rely on then?

Collymore swings the ball when the conditions are helpful and seams the ball when the pitch allows for it and he's almost unerringly accurate. At best Powell relies on seam movement. I fail to see exactly how Powell is a more effective ODI bowler.

Its a strong team with plenty of bowling options, and plenty of batting as well. Though this line up theoretically bats down to 8 it might be prone to collapse if the guns at the top of the order don't fire. Brian Lara can be used as a floater, but if he comes in too low down the order his intervention is unlikely to make a difference even in the case of a collapse. Allrounders Bravo, Gayle, and Samuels are key parts of this attack, especially Gayle and Samuels as this side does not carry a specialist spinner.

Yep I think you got that just about right.I have a sneaky feeling that Powell might get the nod ahead of Collymore

Powell is certain to play. He bowled well in the warmups and was in reasonablish form in Pakistan and India. Collymore hasn't had enough opportunity to nose ahead of him.

Meh, I've never been too impressed with Powell really but its a line-ball call to tell you the truth. They're both reasonably accurate fast bowlers, but I think Colleymore is the one more likely to snag a wicket of the two.

Whenever I have seen Powell bowl he is defenitely not accurate!!!!.Powell IMO is a more of a wicket taker but Collymore can keep it tight at one end without beeing really penetrative.

Keep in mind that Powell had a really bad start to his ODI career. He's been better recently.

TBH I'd go with the guy who is in the best form at the present time and that is Powell.Collymore just hasn't quite done enough in the last few months to book a place in the X1 ahead of Powell IMO.

I'd always pick Collymore ahead of Powell. But I'm fairly certain Powell will play tomorrow. And it'll likely be at the expense of Collymore.

I think you'll find Collymore has a better record than Powell in the last few months, actually.
