Sure he wasnt the only one. Thats the point.

But averaging 60 in the mid 90s is more noteworthy.

In the 2000s, he wasn't the best bat in the world even at that time. There were many folks lining their pockets against poor bowling and flat pitches.
He lined his pockets vs McGrath, Murali and co. That's good enough for me.

Sure whatever. But you can't deny that aesthetically early career Lara was something else. More fluid, more grace. He had the flourish and played some of the most original stokes I had never seen before.

Whereas late career Lara played a bit straighter and less away from his body. Was still great to watch but not the same.
