Trevor Goddard was the "be all do all"; an opening batsman and bowler, and quite commendable on both departments alongside being a good captain. But despite all, it's no really close. AB de Villiers' batting on and on itself brings much more value to your average team than the all round skills of Goddard. And to boost that, he was a gun fielder and was a useful keeper. The only argument could be made for a bottom tier team; in which both of Goddard's outputs will be invaluable, but I still think I would prefer ABD. I think this comparison is the equivalent of asking Ian Botham vs Don Bradman in a median team.

Whatever it takes!!!
If AB is keeping, probably AB. But I feel the OP did not think of it that way, so voting Goddard here.

Also coz I have Goddard opening for my team in the latest draft :p
