How much do you think is the gap between BAB category and Elite ATG category?
Not huge. But there's mini gaps in between as well, and shifting of order depending on the criteria, but that mainly includes Hobbs.

Tendulkar | Richards | Sobers | Hobbs

Then the BAB with * that's just a sub tier below.

Smith | Lara | Hutton | Richards

Then the post BAB that's just behind

Gavaskar | Hammond | Chappell | Headley | Ponting | Pollock

Then the next set behind them that's the last of the true ATGs

Kallis | Dravid | Root | Waugh |
Border / Sangakkara

But to answer your question, not a huge gap. But I don't see them in that BAB convo.
