Richards in India.

Three hundreds vs one, and Viv has two MOM/Match Winning performances in won games, Sachin has one. Close though, not a big gap at all.

State Regular
Sachin played all 4 matches vs Ambrose and co
Which are dead rubber matches with zero interest/hype .

So Viv Richards win easily here

hype has nothing to do with Cricketing quality, Sachin played well against good pacers in Windies (on albeit, slow wickets), that deserves credit.

Imo Sachin played better bowlers.
probably, one very good attack and one mid attack, but only one hundred (not against the great attack) really hurts him when Viv has two match winning tons against a great home attack (192*) and one on a very tough wicket (109*), and I feel like the wickets in 1997 other than the Barbados one were very dead. The Sabina Park wicket was "a pitch derided for its lack of pace and bounce", Queens Park Oval was "Their cause was not helped by another depressingly slow pitch." and the final Bourda wicket, it rained so much they considered switching, and Windies offered to abandone the match after day 1 as the game was over anyway, because no play on day 2/3 and the first two sessions of day 4. It's a very good series but not enough to sway my opinion.

Ambrose walsh and Bishop thats atg attack not just good

If he played four more innings he would have scored a century for sure
how do you know that? in the two innings he got to bat second, he made 15* and 4. He should've gone big, had he done it at Barbados India would've won the series.

Bishop was finished by this point, but sure he made some nice fifties against them in that series so I say it's close overall, which I would not say If I wasn't considering the quality of the attack, but you can't blame me for preferring 3 hundreds (one made on a turner against high class spin, in his second game) and better performances/knocks.
