I really feel Martin Crowe is one of the highly rated batsman to not average 50 in Test cricket.

He is rated arguably better than any other batsman that has averaged below 50.

I think for Kohli, the peer reputation is more influenced by his output in white ball cricket.
Kohli's peak was legit Great, especially the year 2018. At one point he looked a sure shot ATG. It's just that his decline has been way worse than of any other Top tier batter

Yeah that year was his best. But when you play more games, it is expected that you perform more.

Teams are bowling better to Kohli now and he can't cope in his old age. I think without the influence of injury, Crowe's fundamentals were too strong to ever suffer such an extreme and prolonged slump.

He was also a more intelligent and patient bat than Kohli I reckon
