Unsure why this is surprising? In the 2022 poll Miandad was at 21 and Kohli 38. In the 2024 poll Miandad was at 24 and Kohli 29.

Its been the view for a while at least. Kohli’s run of form to bump him up those 9 positions was 841 @ 40.04 btw

people kind of forget Javed was very much a cheat, really aided by the fact he couldn't be given LBW or Nick/caught or close run outs at home as long as he wanted to not get out.

I do not believe Kohli is far off him.
