That I've seen:

Maybe having McCullum at the top is controversial but both innings were insanely clutch and without them India win the series 2-0.

I'll give you Nathan Astle. Epic performance vs an atg attack. My bad, I tend to overlook shorter series.
Mike Atherton had a great series but we're only limited to 5 and Steve Waugh for example his performances were the differences between a series loss (and draw).

In general:
Batting - Don Bradman's only series against us.
Bowling - Malcolm Marshall when Windies toured India after 1983 World Cup
What I have personally watched:
Batting - Steven Smith against us in 2017, considering how unplayable Jadeja was in that series, Umesh being a beast in India and Ashwin in his purple patch.
Bowling - Stuart Broad in 2011. Previously it was McGrath in 1999/2000, but Broad's bowling in that series made me avoid cricket for a considerable amount of time.

The one that stands out for me is Shakib versus us in 2009.
He took over the captaincy from Mashrafe on the first day of the first match of the series.

australian bowling attack 2019/20 easily. plenty of teams jumped us between the fleming and mccullum eras, but that was a proper batting side who just met a brick wall. you actually had to watch it to respect it properly. relentless corridor bowling at pace, backed up by nathan lyon's reliability.
beyond that, probably england's batsmen in 2004. fleming's side was a proper team, and our bowling especially just could not compete. nz would post a good score only for england to cruise past it and score a billion more.

Glad to see this get some recognition. Loved watching him bat around that time. He was just about best in the world for a year or 2.
