Thorpe. Taylor averages 33 away from home outside ZImbabwe.
Agreed. Taylor's batting average takes quite a hit when you exclude Zim from his test records. and reduces to 41.44. Thorpe tended to score tough runs. Taylor might be better to watch but there is a bit of a gap in proper achievement against good bowling. Thorpe didn't do so well in Africa, ironically failing in Zimbabwe and not so good right at the end of his career in SA, but a far more consistent scorer of runs generally

Thorpe's output against strong bowling and in tough conditions around the world is good. Underrated and well ahead of Taylor imo.
