It would depends entirely on the team makeup. If they have good bowling options but weak batting then Imran/Miandad would be more valuable because it provides an extra bat.

I don't think it is. Imran is pretty much equivalent to an average bat himself coming at 6/7. That basically opens up five bowling options for an average team too.
