Others will know more about them than I do. Pataudi never fulfilled his considerable potential after the car accident that badly damaged his eye. Umrigar had a reputation for being suspect against fast bowling that never completely went away.
Both worked very hard at their game and were excellent fielders, as well as good captains. Pataudi had great faith in Prasanna's off-spin while his successor as captain Wadekar often favoured Venkat.
