*Official* NZ and Sri Lanka in Australia 2021-22 (ODIs and T20s)

Last year NZ played one ODI game in Oz with no spectators before the tour was cancelled due to Covid. This is just playing that series a year late. Anyway there is talk the tour might not go ahead as NZ Cricket hasn't booked any quarantine hotel rooms for the players as obviously thought trans-Tasman bubble would last and covid was under control.

Latham and Nicholls won't be available either.

KW, Conway, Latham, and Nicholls missing (4 of our 5 best ODI batsmen once Taylor finishes), with only Guptill recovering from injury. Bowlers and allrounders should be fine.

Nicholls wouldn’t be playing if Guptill, Conway, KW and Taylor were all available. Latham, yeah, but he’s hardly a star in ODI cricket, and I’m honestly keen to see how Cleaver goes in his stead.

Rumors are the tour is going to be an extended one. 5 one dayers and 5 T20s for us vs Aussie.

Doubt if we're going to see any new face. Sears will be there for sure but he ain't new face he's already played for the black caps in Bangladesh. The only new face I'd think will make the cut is Cleaver. Maybe Michael Bracewell if one of the regulars don't want to go.

If Ajaz isn't going to be picked for test squad he'll make the white ball squad.

Guptill, Allen, Phillips, Chapman, Taylor, Cleaver, Seifert, Santner, CDG, Neesham, Sears, Duffy, Sodhi, Doug Bracewell, Lockie (not sure how Ajaz will fit in).

We should see some new names. Ken McClure, Nathan Smith, Josh Clarkson, maybe someone like Henry Cooper. George Worker to partner Guptill.

There are other opening options - perhaps Finn Allen, perhaps the keeper (hopefully Cleaver and not Seifert), perhaps Munro (BBL finishes 2 days before the 1st ODI).

Probably only 1 new batter, and they might not play, as Chapman + Taylor + Phillips will probably be 3-4-5. I think ideal to take over Josh Clarkson, let him on the bench for the ODIs and play the T20.
