England make Thisara Perera look like a world class bowler...

And England's middle order is pants.

I reckon Morgan not being in the Test side has unhelpfully extended his stay in the ODI side. People will insist on splitting the two wherever possible and the ongoing urge to find ODI 'specialists' even if there are none has meant he gets far less flak than anyone who can actually play all formats. Sadly he's been **** for ages.14 matches without a fifty, striking at 70.

Safe to say that the middle order has failed the lull batting here. If Moeen/Bopara/Stokes don't chase this, and right now SL are easily favourites, England lost because they weren't boring enough.

Moeen has looked a class apart. Looks like he will be getting into the side as a batsman at least, which makes balancing the side vastly easier.

Well looks like this match is basically done then.
You'd think so. Shame we can't expect more than one of our top 6 to go on with it, or even make a start in most cases. Great innings by Moeen though.

Whatever happened to Morgan? A few years ago he was world class in this format. Nowadays he barely deserves to be in the side.
