Hey everyone,
I was just curious to know your thoughts – do you think sports video games like NBA 2K20 or FIFA actually increase people’s interest in following real-life sports like cricket or basketball?
For example, many young fans discover basketball through NBA 2K games before they even watch a real NBA match. Similarly, I feel cricket video games (like EA Cricket, Don Bradman Cricket, etc.) have introduced the sport to a global audience.
Personally, I’ve seen a few friends who never watched cricket before, but after playing cricket games, they started following IPL and international matches.
What do you all think? Can sports video games really act as a gateway for growing real sports fanbases?
