Mark Waugh vs Graham Thorpe

Who is the better test batsman?

I actually think Mark Waugh is pretty good. His record against the strongest three attacks of his time is pretty sound. But Thorpe's super solid away record in a *much* poorer setup wins him this one. And usually a big argument against Thorpe is the other guy has more daddy hundreds. Doesn't apply in this comparison.

Both should have went big more often

the only reason this is even close is because Waugh never really went on and scored massive daddy hundreds as stated

I think Thorpe is England's best overseas performer of the past 30 years. Root has the big hundreds, but Thorpe has the marquee performances. Bridgetown, Colombo, Perth, Karachi, Wellington.
