Tests - KP by a mile.

T20 - I would have to do more research tbh. I know both excelled in T20 but I'm a casual when it comes to that form.
Gayle is arguably the T20 GoAT; infact I am having a hard time making a case for anyone else. KP was good in T20s, but not in that level.

Yeah I know he is very highly regarded in that format. Big legacy in franchises and part of the WI team that won two WT20s. Clean hitter; especially down the ground.

Kohli’s the goat in T20Is which matter the most and one of the best in IPL(the only T20 league that matters). So overall if you combine both, Kohli’s better.

Ehh.... Probably. Gayle has played many more T20s all around the world and I can think of too many an instance of Kohli batting far too slow, especially after a point when the good score shifted from 170 too 190 odd. Also, two World Cups for Gayle.

Kohli hasn't played in all T20 leagues around the world but has definitely been better than Gayle in t20i cricket and IPL where they've played together. Would definitely give this to Kohli

Kohli has been too slow way to often for me personally.

Those leagues around the world have poor representation of the best players of the world. That’s why I don’t consider them much. Kohli’s world T20 record far too good for Gayle’s CPL 100s to make a difference

He has the highest IPL highs, but too many long dry fruitless spells as well; either not scoring at all, or scoring runs in rate that hardly matters. ABD and Warner are the two best IPL bats imo.
My favourite IPL memory is ABD smacking a near 150 kph Yorker on middle stump by Steyn way back into the crowd.
