When Lindwall retired he was probably the GOAT, let's get that out of the way, so that's an advantage right there.

When I was making my top 14 lists (saying this now I'm seeing that top 15 would have been better), I initially had Lindwall and Garner 13 and 14 in that order. But I then wanted to fit in O'Reilly, so had to remove one if them. I realized that all of the criticisms vs Garner also for Lindwall, including no 10fers for his career. All that plus a wpm of under 4 and statistically viable gap in the other main stats led me to include O'Reilly at 13 and Garner at 14. Lindwall is not too far behind though, along with Holding, Waqar, Pollock etc.
