If Anderson played in the 80s or 90s like Walsh, he would be likely averaging sub 23 at home with 4.5WPM because he wouldn't have the higher degree of flat pitches to dilute his record.
Don't you know? England was always uber-greentops whenever English bowlers bowled and it was a flat road whenever English batters batted etc

England always been bowler friendly other than some of the 2023 Ashes. There were always some roads sprinkled here and there though.

Not true really. Anderson's career coincided with entire series of flat pitches in England.

SA 2003. Ashes 2009. SA 2012. SL 2014. Pak 2016.

don't think I count pre 2010 Jimmy's career considering after a bunch of stress fractures and the coaches/ECB forcing him to change his action, he returned to his old action in 2010 and iirc he immediately became amazing again, but yeah England has presented fair share of flatter wickets, especially the pitch where SA made 640/2

I agree to me Anderson really starts 2010 onwards but he did have to bowl on some roads in Eng in his time before and after.

yeah he did, that's imo the difference between England and South Africa, prior is a lot more balanced even if net overall seamer friendly, it's not like batters don't get anything.
