The so-called Golden Age 1895-1914 saw a lot of genuine all-rounders. The following averaged at least 30 with the bat and took 2 wickets per match, minimum 500 wickets, during their FC careers.

Bosanquet, Grace, John Gunn, JW Hearne, Hirst, FS Jackson, Kilner, Mason, Rhodes, Woolley
Armstrong, Noble, Tarrant
SG Smith

There was also Faulkner who would have qualified had he not chosen to play club cricket in England. And the likes of Ted Arnold, Len Braund, Jimmy Iremonger and JH King.
