Morris is too dependent on his first 19 tests. His output faded once England recovered from the War. Smith v Lawry would be closer.

Could you provide some info on how overrated is Morris? I just know that Benaud overrated him a bit.
made all of his runs against a war torn England and India, with inexperienced attacks and English Cricket being in shambles. made 1408 @ 74 in his first three years against those sides on roads, and when the pitches started becoming more difficult and England/India got better his average got halved, for the rest of his career he made 2125 @ 37.28
