Fair, but I reckon WI batting in 1950 was a little stronger than SA.
Weekes' strongest opponents were Aus and Eng and he averaged 39 and 45 against them. Bedser averaged 27 and 26 vs Aus and SA. I'd agree the SA side Bedser played would've been the weakest of the 3, it still contained some storied batsmen. I think they are slightly better numbers.

I didn't know the keeper David Murray was Weekes' son.

To be fair, that England average is low because of that tour when he went to England with Sinusitis and went under the knife five times that series and was in very poor health, but Bedser was bowled into the ground bowling to the ridiculous 40s Australian batting units and it was one of the roughest deals any bowler was ever given so I think that balances it out, I don't think Weekes has anything against Australia or England that competes with Bedser's 1050 Ashes, 1953 Ashes or 1951 South Africa series.
